On Thursday 13 December, 165 individual stackers making up 41 teams from fourteen different schools attended the WOKSSA Sport Stacking championships at The Weald Sports Centre, Cranbrook. Headcorn, Frittenden, Colliers Green, Staplehurst, Wittersham, Cranbrook, St Michaels, Goudhurst, Lamberhurst, Sissinghurst, Benenden, John Mayne and High Halden Primary Schools all took part in the competition.

Ron Parker from Speedstacks Ltd UK ran the event superbly to include 3-3-3, 3-6-3 and 3-6-3 team relay events. Individuals had the opportunity to record two timed attempts at the 3-3-3 and 3-6-3 with all the times being recorded. The fastest stacker from each table then qualified for the final which was a ‘stack off’ to see who could do the fastest stack in one attempt. This then allowed us to find an overall winner for each category. The 3-6-3 relay worked very similar, with each team recording their time and the fastest time from each table going through to a final.

Support from teachers, parents and friends was fantastic and everyone cheered on the competitors to encourage them to their best times. All participants, ranging from year three to year six, had a great time and many are looking for Santa to bring a set of cups and a stack mat!

Lauren (Lamberhurst) and Stephanie (Colliers Green) both recorded a time of 3.84 seconds in the final, therefore having a second final between the two with Lauren winning with a time of 4.80.

Stephanie (Colliers Green) won the final, recording a time of 5.50 which was the quickest all afternoon.
