On Tuesday 9 January, 15 teams from 8 different schools attended the first ever WOKSSA New Age Kurling Festival at Angley School – A Sports College. John Bennett the original founder of New Age Kurling attended to explain a bit about the sport and provide a demonstration of how it should be played and scored. Players had lots of opportunities to practice throwing the stones before taking part in three matches against teams from other schools. Scorers recorded the maximum number of points each team could score on the target from eight stones.
