The 2006 Hockey Festival was hosted by Marden Russets Hockey Club on Thursday October 19. In total, 12 teams from 8 different schools entered; Tenterden Juniors, Staplehurst, Colliers Green, Lamberhurst, Headcorn, Benenden, Frittenden and High Halden.

This was the first year that teams played with goalkeepers in full size goals, complete with all padding, kickers and helmet! Tim Luck (SSCo) has worked hard with hockey specialists Grays to secure funding for the purchase of equipment so thank you to both him and Grays themselves.

Teams were placed in initial groups of four and played each other in a mini-league format. After all matches had been played, teams were seeded and placed into new groups of four with teams of similar ability based on results from round one.

Congratulations to Tenterden A who won two and drew one match in the second round to top the group and win the trophy overall. Frittenden who finished in third place overall were awarded the fair play trophy as decided by the umpires.
