Skinners Kent Academy hosted a Primary Tournament for its cluster schools. The tournament hosted was for both netball and football and gave pupils a chance to enjoy the secondary school setting at one of their potential schools.

The pupils from Oakley School have enjoyed a fun packed week of different activities to celebrate sports’ week. On Monday morning Tim Luck brought senior pupils from T.W.G.S.B to the school where they set up a series of Tri- Golf activities for all pupils in years 2 – 6 to have a go at.

On Wednesday 22nd November, Birch Class joined in with a basketball lesson with the year 5 pupils at Woodlands Primary school. The session was lead by an outside agency, M- Sporti, who work in many schools in the Tonbridge area, teaching games skills.

  Dance Week
As part of Dance week, Yr 5/6 worked on some dancing. We included banghra dancing as part of our cross-curricular study on Pakistan and Islam. The pupils were asked to compose their own dance, and chose their own music to work towards.

  New Age Kurling at St Matthew’s
After being inspired at the New Age Kurling the children at St Matthew’s Primary School decided to run their own Intra-school Kurling Competition during lunchtimes. Mrs Aspinall announced in assembly that there would be a Kurling Competition run in school and that children had to enter in teams of four if they wanted to compete.

St Matthew’s Primary School became the first school in Tunbridge Wells to run a Primary Sports Leaders Course. The newly trained Year 6 pupils are now running lunchtime sports activities for younger children at the school.

  Sherwood Park Football Clubs
During the Autumn Term Mr Luck has been running two lunchtime clubs at Sherwood Park School, one a football club for girls, and the other a football club for the boys. Over the course of the term Mr Luck has been teaching the children basic ball control skills as well as attacking and defensive tactics.

Health Week
  During Sherwood Park’s Health Week Mr. Luck came in to give a demonstration of Tri-Golf and organise relay races for the Infants. During the course of the morning every Year 5 and Year 6 Class participated in a Tri Golf session. The session included several activities that developed different golfing skills.
