  Community Sports Leadership Award

This year, members of the sixth form were invited to take part in a sports coaching volunteer programme called the Community Sports Leadership Award. The award is achieved by completing a minimum of ten hours volunteer work as well as attending lessons after school on Thursdays taught by Mr Luck.

During Dance Week the Boys Grammar School was very lucky to be visited by Craig Bull from Hayesbrook and his dance group – Kick-Start. Kick-Start Dance Club is The Hayesbrook School’s first ever opportunity for extra curricular dance.

  Step Into Sport Conference 2007

Students from Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys attended this year’s Step Into Sport Conference at the Angel Centre in Tonbridge. One of the event organisers was an old boy from the school, Ian Parkes, who is now working in the Kent Sports Development Unit.

  TWGSB Students Participating in Community Sports Leadership

Fifteen Y12 students from Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys are currently undertaking the Level 1 Award in Community Sports Leadership. The award gives people aged 16 and over the skills needed to lead groups in safe sporting and recreational activity.

Every Friday we practice speed stacking at our school. It’s very fun because we get to practice on the tables and get timed on a timing mat. Sometimes we have races against our friends and our instructor Mr. Luck.

Children at St James’ Junior School were unsure of what to expect when Mr Luck arrived with a huge bag over his shoulder. The looked even more intrigued as he began to place lots of brightly coloured cups onto the desk in front of him and set up what looked like a huge electronic clock.

Today saw the inaugural meeting of the TWGSB School Sports Council. The council was formed by Mr Downing, the Head of PE, to meet on the first Monday of every month to discuss sports matters at the school.
