TWGGS 1st VII entered the tournament placed in a challenging group, but benefited from a positive start winning their first game against The Towers School 16-0, with excellent shooting from Tulip Tappenden. However, after this match, TWGGS faced their toughest competition in the form of Bromley High. After a closely contested first half and excellent passing TWGGS managed to secure a much needed 5 – 5 draw. The low opposition’s scores our other games can be attributed to the excellent defending of Alex Longhurst and Oona Culner.

Next, TWGGS faced old rivals Sevenoaks, Although a toughly fought match, TWGGS managed to secure a 6-6 draw, putting then in a good position for group qualification. However, to secure progression a win against King’s School Rochester was vital. A collective effort by the entire team meant we won 9-3. After a tense wait TWGGS progressed to the quarter finals to play Beneden who were last year’s runners up.
