On Thursday last week the U16 hockey squad represented TWGGS at the Kent county tournament in Canterbury.
TWGGS took their group by storm and won 5 out of 5 games brushing aside Cranbrook,Queen Elizabeth Grammar,Chislehurst and Sidcup,Kent College pembury and Kings Rochester.Jess Cremlinwas in fine form and fully recovered from her injury, scoring 8 stunning goals. Charlotte Cremlin and Stef Drinkwater both scored on each. This saw TWGGS through to a quarter final match against Bromley.A fine squad display with goals from Jess cremlin and Lizzy Mills took TWGGS through to the semi final against Kent College Canterbury.

This was a tough game and although TWGGS hit the post they could not find the back of the net.A 0-0 draw meant that the team had to take flicks. This is always a very tense and nervous affair and although TWGGS were 2 -1 down, goalie Sarah Hendley made two saves and cool finishs from Yumi Page and Amber du Toit left Jess Cremlin having to score to take TWGGS through. She scored and TWGGS prepared to take on old rivals Kings Canterbury in the final.TWGGS set about the task very professionally and played with passion. The game was filled with ene to end excitement but in the last 5 minutes TWGGS started to take the upper hand.Jess Cremlin scored the all important goal and then the team just had to hang on for the last few minutes. The defence stood strong and there was great relief when the final whistle blew.
The team will go on to represent Kent at the East of England championships later on this month
