Updated: January 21, 2009 1:26 PM

TWGGS included two U14 teams, the A team which was made up of: Lucy Milson, Izzie Lewis, Sarah Martin and Kate Dart and the B team: Laura Moulton, Abi Ward, Hannah Edmett and Megan Pas. The first match for our teams were against each other, this at first caused annoyance however both teams settled down and played very well with tight games; overall the B team came out triumph winning 3-2 in games. The U14 A then went on to play Angley losing 4-1. They beat Homewood 3-2, with Lucy and Kate performing very well in the singles.

The Under 14 B’s beat Homewood 3-2 and just lost against Angley 2-3, although Angley had a Kent ranked player the team pulled together well and the scores were very close.  The team just missed out on qualifying by one game; however there is always next year girls! Altogether the Under 14’s should be very pleased with their performance, special mention to Megan Pas who won all her matches and a thank you to Lucy who stepped in at the last minute.

The U16’s which consisted of Georgia Lee, Natasha Levy, Lauren Keen and Charlie Newman had to play Homewood first of all beating them with an overall team score of 3-2. Next TWGGS came up against Angleys B team and won easily, with the final team score being 4 -1. The last match TWGGS had to play was against Angley’s A team, and for TWGGS to win the whole tournament they had to beat Angley 5 – 0. The team played skilfully and managed to win all of their games. This means that TWGGS U16’s now advanced to the next round of the National Schools Badminton Championships.

The whole team played really well and should be very please with their performance, as this was their first school Badminton Competition.
