Rolvenden Primary Intra House Speed Stacking Competition 2009

On Monday 23 November Rolvenden Primary School hosted its first Intra House Speed Stacking Competition. This was organised by the year 5 and 6 young leaders and supported by their teacher Mrs May and the Homewood SSCo, Mr Foot. The competition would involve all pupils from the school competing against each other for their individual Houses; Dolphins, Eagles and Pumas to determine which House was the fastest.

Over the past month pupils have been building up to the morning competition by having lunch time training session with the schools Young Sports Leaders (Year 5 & 6 Pupils). They received training in the three different stacks that they would be taking part in with the competition being split into three sections;

Year 1 and 2 pupils had to compete the 3 3 3 Stack (each child had 2 attempts to record their fastest time)
Year 3 and 4 pupils had to complete the 3 3 3 Stack and the 3 6 3 Stack (each child had 2 attempts to record their fastest time)
Year 5 and 6 pupils had to compete the 3 3 3 Stack, the 3 6 3 Stack and the Cycle Stack

Congratulations to all of the pupils who took part in this the first of 4 competitions this year and well done to the winners Pumas who will hold the trophy up until the next round which will be Dance Machine during Dance Week 2010 in February
