For the past three years Staplehurst Primary School has been running a sports club on Saturday mornings. Children are able to participate in a variety of sporting activities, choosing between tag rugby, cricket, hockey and badminton to name but a few. The club is well attended by boys and girls from year one to year six, who all benefit from the extended program being offered by the school.
Speed Stacking was recently introduced to some of the members and we intend to promote this exciting sport during the winter months when the pitches are too wet for outdoor activities. Club members can also look forward to some fast paced indoor hockey and basketball during the cold winter months.
The club is very well supported by parents and members from the community who generously give up their time to assist with coaching, allowing our children to benefit from some excellent training opportunities.
Huge thanks go to Mrs J Strydom and Mrs L Murrell for their continued commitment to building and developing such an effective sports club for youngsters in Staplehurst. |
