Due to the overwhelming success of our football club, which at the time was only open to those children in key stage two, the school decided to organise a club for those children interested in playing football in key stage one.
The club started last year and is run by Mr Peters and Mrs Collins. It is open to boys and girls every Thursday after school, during the football season.
At the end of the season, last year, the school celebrated the success of the club with an informal 5-a-side tournament. Schools who took part were Marden, Cranbrook, Lenham and Headcorn.
This year the club has continued, we have noticed a huge benefit to our senior club, with children that have come through from the key stage one club already familiar with the skills of the game.
We would like to thank Angley for their support in helping this club to keep going. This year with the senior team taking part in many more competitive games it has not always been possible to free up staff to take the key stage one children for football. However, qualified referee and coach, and Senior Sports Leader at Angley School A Sports College, Shaun Gower, was put in touch with the school and has insured that the club continues even if a teacher is committed elsewhere. |
