The Netball Tournament was BRILLIANT!!!! This year it was held at Homewood School, Tenterden on Monday 19th June. The schools were put into 3 categories small, medium and large. Sissinghurst was placed in the medium category where we played against Benenden, Wittersham and St. Michaels. Each game lasted 10 mins and we played each team twice.
Everybody looked as if they were having so much fun and they were all really enthusiastic. The teams were very fair and honest and always said sorry or checked that you were ok if you got hurt or knocked over.
The netball courts at Homewood were quite confusing because they also had tennis court markings on them. Luckily they were both in different colours and it was fine once you got used to it.
The crowd of people, mums, dads, brothers, sisters, friends and relatives were very encouraging and supportive, helping both the boys and girls to play well.
John Mayne won the small category, Benenden won the medium category and Hawkhurst won the large category. Each team member who took part, received a certificate and cups were handed to the winners.
Finally, we would like to say a big thank you to Mrs Jo Thompson for all of her help in training and supporting us netballers throughout the years before her retirement.
Also thank you to Mrs Tanya Crane for all of her help and to Mrs Wendy Tomsett for agreeing to be our new Netball trainer.
