When I learnt that our SSCo was coming in to teach Yr 6 Cricket I was quite excited because I had never played properly before. Our first lesson was really good and in that one lesson we practiced how to throw accurately, some of the rules of the game and how to bowl underarm. We continued to practice every week learning more skills about batting and fielding until it was time to enter the WOKSSA Kwik Cricket Festival.

When we arrived on the day we started to practice our bowling and batting to warm up. When it was time for our matches we discovered that winning a match was not going to be easy as most of teams that we played beat us. It was not a complete loss, our new found skills helped us to win one match.

One thing I learnt was not to take a risk if you have already gained some points! Even though we did not win we played well as a team and with good manners and, we definititely did have fun!
